Position    :  DataStage Architect
Location   :  Downtown Chicago,IL
Duration   : 1 year contract / potential contract to hire (can be any work status)

 

Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
7+ years of IT work experience
5+ years of DataStage development and design experience
5+ years of ETL architecture experience

 

Preferred Skills:
Excellent communication skills
Ability to coordinate work across multiple teams
Strong understanding of the development cycle
Experience working with both on-shore and off-shore teams
DataStage 8.X experience desired
Teradata and Oracle data experience
UNIX scripting experience

 

Day to Day Activities:
ETL Development:  Multiple project experiences with DataStage with the ability to communicate design considering using a combination of DataStage, databases, and UNIX scripting where required.  Practical experience in loading data, troubleshooting mapping, tuning applications, etc.

 

Team Mentoring:  Mentoring designers and developers in ETL best practices
Application tuning:  Developing/Optimizing/Performance tuning of ETL jobs
Database:  Teradata and Oracle data experience. 
Responsible for the interfacing with the database design team and performance tuning the data loads.
Serves as a point of escalation for complex issues
Responsible for developing and growing ETL team members
Responsible for developing work plans and coordinating ETL staff
Coordination of both on-shore and
