Job Title : Data Modeler

Must Haves:
5 plus Years experience as a data modeler
Experience working with ER/ Studio
Strong relational and dimensional logical data modeling design skills
Strong communication both written and verbal

Day to Day:
Develop conceptual data models and fully attributed, completely documented logical data models to support project-specific data tasks as well as Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence initiatives.
Utilize the business data requirements along with the Enterprise Data Model as a framework to derive the project logical data model.
Ensure that new data development is consistent and well integrated with existing data structures. q Participate in the gathering/analysis of business requirements, working with the database team to define/create logical data models.
Work with business analysts to translate business needs into logical data structures, including the definition of entities, relationships and attributes as well as data access, usage, security, volumes, and sensitivity/criticality/confidentiality.
Conduct conceptual/logical data models JAD sessions (walk-throughs).q Participate in design review sessions.
Work with the DBA to translate the logical data models into physical data models. q Establish data definitions and assist in conflict resolution for projects specific to data definitions and data issues.
Document business metadata characteristics (e.g. data names, definitions, optionality, lengths) to ensure specification completeness and compliance with standards for the data elements in the logical data model.
