Role:                Windows System Admin

Location:          Piscataway, NJ

Duration:          FULL-TIME

Business Description:

To provide Level 2 Windows Systems Administration support and business customer service through reactive daily Windows systems support, implementation of new server-based solutions, operational maintenance, and proactive change initiatives.

Responsibilities:

·         Daily reactive support for Windows servers globally via hotline and ticketing systems. Perform triage, initial troubleshooting, and escalation.

·         Proactively support the ongoing maintenance and optimization of preventative maintenance activities designed to increase the stability of the environment and efficiency by 

      which we maintain high levels of stability (e.g. Windows Maintenance, Patching, daily and weekly housekeeping tasks, etc.).

·         Interfaces proactively with other Infrastructure support teams such as UNIX, Database, Network, IT Facilities, Backup, Storage, Monitoring, Security etc.

·         Provide 2^nd level support to Wintel Server Support vendor teams, including training.

·         Develop and maintain procedures & policies around all aspects of server support & implementation, including evaluation of existing practices, documentation, and holding 

      training sessions.

·         Assist vendors with implementation of new servers, including bank-standard build and QA process.

·         Work with other global Wintel teams to provide follow-the-sun support and drive global consistency.

·         Provide 2^nd level support to SL1/desktop support staff.

·         Provide 2^nd level support to application support teams managing server-based applications.

·         Responsible for installation, configuration and updates of systems related software, firmware, operating systems patches and upgrades.

·         Provide on-going assistance to other service providers with new implementations and support issues.

·         Participate in and contribute to strategic bank initiatives & programs, including but not limited to Windows Server Management process optimization and service delivery  

      efficiency initiatives.

Skill Requirements:

Essential Skills:

·         Expert knowledge of Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows 2008.

·         Expert knowledge of server concepts & architectures.

·         Expert knowledge of network and firewall concepts & architectures.

·         Expert knowledge of enterprise storage concepts & architectures.

·         Expert knowledge of server scripting and automation technologies.

·         Excellent written and verbal communications.

·         Experience working with offshore vendors.

·         Builds positive working relationships and works collaboratively with other team members.

·         Experience in a large corporate environment.

Desired Skills:

·         Experience with VMware.

·         Experience with IIS, MDAC and/or .NET.

·         Experience in the financial services industry.

Experience Required:

·         Minimum 3-4 years experience with networked Windows server systems.

·         4 year degree or equivalent industry experience.

Language:

·         Mastery of English.
