Position  : RPG Programmer/Synon
Location : Sunrise, Florida
Duration : 6 month Contract

 

MUST HAVES:
5+ years of programming experience with RPG (RPGIII or RPGIV) and ILE on IBM AS/400
Experience with Synon development
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Experience with CL scripting (AS/400 Control Language - a scripting language for the IBM AS/400 midrange platform bearing a resemblance to the IBM JCL and consisting of an ever expanding set of command objects used to invoke traditional AS/400 programs and/or get help on what those programs do. CL can also be used to create CL programs, similar to shell scripts)
SQL development experience

 

PLUSES:
experience with Java development and techniques using JSP servlets
experience with cable and/or telephony billing systems

 

DAY TO DAY:
Our client is taking over a customer’s custom program and is looking for an additional RPG programming resource who is proficient with Synon development as well to join the team and make those programs compatible to the latest release.  A large part of this work will be focused on modifications rather than scratch development.   Once this phase is completed, you will be moving to a conversion project to migrate data within SQL
